All GP practices in Uithoorn are temporarily closed to new registrations. To ensure quality of care for all our patients, we are forced to introduce a temporary patient stop. Exceptions are made only when there is a birth or other expansion within a family/residence. Below is an additional explanation of this difficult decision.
We will communicate via this website in due course when we will be able to accept new patients again. New residents in Uithoorn who are unable to register now are advised to contact their health insurance company.
Notes: In many places in the Netherlands, accessible GP care is no longer a given. In Uithoorn, too, there has been a shortage of GPs for years and practices are having great difficulty recruiting new colleagues. The GP practices in Uithoorn had been running up against their limits for some time and now the strain has worn off. The result is an indefinite patient freeze. This means that people coming to live in Uithoorn can no longer register with these practices.
The GPs fully realise that this creates an undesirable situation in Uithoorn. That is why the alarm was raised earlier with the municipality of Uithoorn and Zorg en Zekerheid, the largest health insurer in our region. The above situation is expected to continue for a long time, also given the new housing in Uithoorn.
If the arrival of new GPs creates more capacity, practices will reopen to new patients. The practices would also warmly welcome the arrival of a new GP practice in Uithoorn.
